Do in-ear monitors actually have woofers and tweeters?

This is a great question and it really gives us the chance to talk a bit about the history of in-ear monitors and about how the industry has evolved. When in-ear monitors first started out, there were just receivers. Some of those early receivers were large and those functioned as woofers and some were smaller and those were made to behave like tweeters.

Since then, the industry has significantly matured and now balanced armatures are designed to support every imaginable audio function. And who better to explain this progression than Eric Hruza. Eric is the Director of Pro Audio for Sonion. He’s also one of the most knowledgeable and well respected individuals in this market segment.

We’ll be featuring more exclusive insights from Eric Hruza, Sonion’s Director of Pro Audio next week.
